Rhinoplasty

Revision Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgery whose objective is to achieve the greatest harmony and symmetry of the face by correcting it.

Types of rhinoplasty and the characteristics that define them:
  • Aesthetic Rhinoplasty: surgical treatment to correct the nasal shape.
  • Structural Rhinoplasty: incorporates a series of procedures whose main purpose is to prevent deformities caused by scar retraction and ensure the position of the modified structures in the intervention.
  • Open Rhinoplasty: uses the transcolumellar route to facilitate the treatment of the nasal tip.
  • Submucosal Rhinoplasty: preserves the integrity of the nasal mucosa in the treatment of the back by making subperichondrial flaps.
  • Augmentation Rhinoplasty: The greatest contribution to this approach to rhinoplasty was made by Jack Sheen. Within this type of rhinoplasty, it is possible to differentiate, due to its special characteristics, the use of atrial cartilage and rib cartilage grafts.
  • Primary Rhinoplasty: it has never been operated.
  • Secondary or Revision Rhinoplasty: has previously undergone surgery by another surgeon. It can be tertiary, quaternary, etc., although it is normally called all secondary. When the patients are ours and we carry out a new operation, we qualify them as Reviews or Retouching and Reoperations, depending on the importance of the reoperation.
  • Functional Rhinoplasty: includes all those operations whose purpose is to improve nasal breathing.
  • Rhinoseptoplasty: consists of the simultaneous correction of nasal and septum anatomical changes. It is a combination of Functional Rhinoplasty and Aesthetic Rhinoplasty.
  • Reconstructive Rhinoplasty (traumatic nose): it is performed in cases of trauma, wounds, etc. in which there is no tissue loss.
  • Reconstructive Rhinoplasty: requires the mobilization of nearby or distant tissues to reconstruct parts or the entire nose.
  • Rhinoplasty in Men: the male nose has its own characteristics, which is why a specific type of rhinoplasty has been differentiated for it.
